Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE)
PSHCE Curriculum
The aim of our PSHCE curriculum is to equip all students with the skills they will need for a successful and happy life. We have an emphasis on raising both the self-esteem of our students and improving our school community by explicitly teaching students to treat themselves and others with respect.
During PSHCE sessions students are encouraged to develop an awareness of the world around them by exploring issues in the local and wider society, current affairs, politics and what it means to be a good citizen of the world today. During all PSHCE sessions there is an emphasis on creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone is valued, and students feel able to express themselves. The curriculum delivered is an integral part of our Character Education.
An important part of the PSHCE curriculum is the opportunity to engage with outside agencies who regularly come into school to work with students and help them to understand the different aspects of life in the 21st century.
