KS3 students completed an introduction to refereeing through the Whistlers Programme. Whistlers by England Football is a programme which introduces students to the core skills of officiating. Students were provided with a basic knowledge of the laws of the game and developed their officiating skills through the practical activities. Students met professional Referee, Emily Carney, who most recently was the assistant referee for the women's champions league final and will be refereeing at the Olympics this summer.  A fantastic day which provided students with the opportunity to try new skills and learn about a different career in sport. Our very own Lamiyah was awarded referee of the day.
